For the Dahlias stamps. art director Greg Breeding turned to award-winning photographer Denise Ippolito to showcase the lush beauty of these colorful flowers.
In shades of pink. white. yellow. magenta. and red. Ippolito’s close-up images perfectly capture the distinctive lines and curls of 10 dahlias in full bloom.
Ippolito’s careful use of natural light is key to the life-like quality of her photographs. I used reflectors in the field to direct light onto the dahlias. she explained. Sometimes when the light was too harsh. I completely shaded the flower and then directed diffused light onto it.
