Description
The pane dedicates a row of stamps for each battle. A stamp’s image is either a photograph linked to the site or a watercolor illustration of a battle scene.
The rows and their battles are in chronological order. starting in 1775 with the two battles in Massachusetts. Lexington and Concord and Bunker Hill; Trenton. NJ. in 1776; Saratoga. NY. in 1777; and Yorktown. VA. in 1781.
A quote from Thomas Paine in the upper right of the pane begins. These are the times that try men’s souls.
