Description

Description

Lapins is a modern cherry variety that was developed to surpass all other dark sweet cherries in both deliciously sweet flavor and overall hardiness. The dark red cherries produced by a Lapins tree boast a sweetness that surpasses even Bing, the most popular sweet cherry in the world. These cherries are also quite large, with some measuring up to an inch in diameter. Another noteworthy quality of Lapins is that unlike most sweet cherries, it is completely self-pollinating. This is possible because Lapins is a hybrid of the 2 cherry cultivars Stella and Van. Stella is a famously self-pollinating cherry cultivar and Lapins was developed to inherit this wonderful quality. It should also be noted that Lapins is among the best pollinators for other trees as well.
