Description
The Durand is a fully patented, two-piece wine opener that allows you to successfully uncork older and fragile wine corks without breaking them. Durand was invented by wine connoisseur Mark Taylor, who had experienced difficulties with brittle corks when opening older and fine wines. He founded Wining Taylors, LLC (based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA) to manufacture and market Durand in 2007. Durand is named after Yves Durand, a world-renowned sommelier. Using Durand on older, fragile or compromised corks reduces the risk of broken corks, corks being pushed down into the bottle or corks being partially removed leaving pieces floating in the wine. Durand removes the cork whole and intact. Many wine lovers, collectors, nationally and internationally renowned sommeliers use Durand today as their primary wine opener.
- Durand removes the whole cork and content.
- Durand is an absolute must-have for anyone who likes to open and drink older wines.
- Eliminates unwanted results from broken corks, stoppers pushed into bottles or partially removed caps, leaving bits floating in wine.
