Description
Van Zyverden’s ‘TN Ostrich Fern’, a glade fern, produces stately fronds that grow upright and are vase-shaped. Ferns are nice background plants in the garden to create a woodland feel. Although ferns prefer shade, they will grow in full sun. Ferns are most beautiful in spring when the fronds start to unfurl. Ferns multiply quickly by rhizomes to form colonies. Plant ferns outdoors in spring after all danger of frost has passed in a partially shaded to full shade location. The ideal soil is rich and porous and drains well, yet still holds enough water for the roots.
