Teco Art Pottery by Frank Lloyd Wright Satin Green 4 Buttress Feature Vase Decor Formally known as the American Terra Cotta Tile and Ceramic Company, the Illinois-based Teco Pottery started in 1885 by William Day Gates. Teco, composed of the first two letters in Terra and Cotta, is known for its smooth, micro-crystalline matte glaze green pottery. Frank Lloyd Wright used Teco pottery as decorative accents in many of the houses he designed. With groundbreaking shapes both architectural and organic, these high-quality reproductions maintain the integrity of the originals. Water tight with a satin finish glaze and contemporary style. This unique Teco vase measures 9.5″ Tall and 5.5″ in diameter. Made of ceramic porcelain, the vase weighs about 3.5 pounds. The Buttress Vase 4 or the four handed Buttress Vase in TECO’s design catalog, features an architectural genius of four supporting structural buttresses upholding the vase in the center. Although buttresses are common in ancient buildings, this vase is modernized with its smooth and clean cut lines of the sculpture. This is an Ebros Gift exclusive collection.
