Description
Golden Chain trees are among the most popular garden trees in the world mainly due to their breathtaking yellow blossoms which link together to form weeping flower chains. These Golden Chain flowers are highly fragrant and are known to measure over 1 ft. L. These bright yellow blossom chains beautifully blend with the dark green bark of the tree to create a unique visual effect most trees lack. Another attractive feature of the Golden Chain tree is that its maximum size tends to be relatively compacting comparison to other popular garden trees. The mature height of a Golden Chain tree is between 12 ft. and 20 ft. tall, with a spread of 8 ft. to 10 ft. Golden Chains are excellent garden trees also because their roots increase nitrogen levels in the soil. The reason for this is that the Golden Chain tree is actually a member of the pea family and being a legume, it has the defining characteristic of fixing nitrogen in the soil, which helps boost and support neighboring plants.
