Description
Whats Thanksgiving dinner without garden sage in the stuffing? Not only is it a staple during the holidays, but sage adds fantastic flavor to everyday sauces and roasts, tooas well as your favorite poultry, pork, and sausage recipes. This herbaceous perennial grows beautifully in well-drained garden beds and containers, and it thrives in fall and winter in hot climates, too. Place it where you can enjoy the fragrance when you gently rub the leaves. Pollinators love its pretty purple flowers. Unlike most herbs, the flavor of sage intensifies after blooming. Use it fresh, or dry harvests for future use. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Perennial in zones 5 to 8.
