Description
Some live succulents are best admired from below. The pendant succulent charmer string of pearls (Senecio Crowleyans), so named because of the pearl-shaped leaves that adorn the trailing stems, is one of those plants. This curious green succulent vine thrives as a houseplant and patio plant from above, cascading from hanging baskets and providing attractive greenery and flowers where most succulents do not. Create a sense of lush, peaceful retreat by adding several hanging baskets. You can also mix and match with other trailing succulents, such as string of bananas, Peperomia Ruby Cascade, and donkey tails. People need breathers from time to time and plants provide the opportunity to relax, clear ones mind, and focus on something else. For instance, if you look closely at the pearls, you can see a narrow translucent window that aids in photosynthesis. Grows in trailing fashion to 3 feet or more. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch, less so in winter. Plant in porous soil with excellent drainage. Provide filtered light. Flowers fall to winter. Hardy to Zone 10/36 degrees F.
