Having 2 AMPs means more power, faster charge times and gives you the option to charge more powerful devices. The USB charge port provides 2000mA recharging current. Devices requiring more than 2000mA should not be used. Charging time may vary for different devices. Avoid charging tablets; they require more than 2 AMPs. This clock is electric operated; the battery backup does not power the clock. The battery backup is used for storing the time and alarm settings if the power is interrupted. During battery backup the clocks display will not be lit. Once the power is restored the display will re-light. Check the time to make sure it is accurate and adjust if necessary.
